Matt Williams and Chad Kennedy with Broadband Services of Union Parish were in attendance at the June Union Parish Police Jury meeting. During the meeting, Matt had the opportunity to speak to everyone in attendance, and those who were watching the Union Parish Police Jury’s meeting on the Facebook Live video. These men and their staff have worked hard over the last year trying to provide much-needed internet services to the parish. They have come up against some obstacles and had some of their staff move on to different jobs, but this has not stopped them in their efforts to make Union Parish better.
Recently Matt reached out to The Banner News and wanted to give an update on where his team was on getting things up and running. “We have completed the construction of our first tower that provides wireless internet service in Union Parish. This tower is located at 360 Denton Road in Farmerville, La. Our signal will reach out in an 8-mile 360-degree ring around the tower. Not all homes can receive our signal because of clutter and terrain obstacles, so we are using a LiDAR heat map to look up addresses of potential customers to confirm that our signal can reach their homes.”
“We have sent out about 300 letters to the homes that we have confirmed can receive the signal, but have only had one customer respond. That customer is now hooked up and running smoothly We’re reaching out to spread awareness of our service and would like to give our contact info to potential customers in the area.”
The map attached shows the area that is open for service. You can contact Matt at 318-224-3225 or 318-265-4365 or email him at matt@broadbandservicesla.com or chad@broadbandservicesla.com
