Brad Lowe of Downsville is the proprietor of Porch Gliders for Veterans, an organization dedicated to providing free gliders to Veterans. Each month, Lowe conducts a Facebook drawing to select a recipient for a free glider. For the month of April, the lucky winner was Kenneth Boyett of Bernice, who was thrilled to receive the call notifying him that he could pick up his glider.
“It was a great honor to present SGT Kenneth E. Boyett with his personalized glider in recognition of his service in the United States Army. Special thanks to Joey from C&J Woodworks, who generously donates his time and expertise to engrave each veteran’s information, adding a personal touch,” stated Lowe.
To sustain these generous giveaways, Lowe is seeking additional donations to help cover the cost of materials.
Lowe sets up at Big Creek Trade Days each month, where he also gives away a glider. “I am unsure how much longer I can afford to give away as many gliders as I would like. I am hopeful that more sponsors will step forward to help cover at least the material costs, enabling us to continue giving back to those who have served our great country,” Lowe expressed.
In addition to gliders, Lowe manufactures benches, porch swings, and other outdoor furniture. His work will be on display from June 7th to 9th at Big Creek Trade Days in Dubach.
