In the words of Town of Farmerville Mayor John Crow, ‘Let’s Do This!’ The Mega Ramp paperwork was signed this past week with the next stage beginning soon. Crow has had numerous individuals helping push this huge endeavor forward. Senator Stewart Cathey, Representative Chris Turner, and former Senator Mike Walsworth have all been instrumental in getting this dream to become a reality. “I am very excited to begin this project, and I can’t wait to see the work begin soon, this will be one step closer to the development of that large area of land that will make a major impact on Farmerville and Union parish,” stated Mayor Crow.
“I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to see the plans of this project start to move to the next level. For four years Stewart (Cathey) and I have been working on this project along with officials from the city of Farmerville and Union Parish, as well as area business owners. Mayor John Crow has been a driving force in moving this project forward and got the ball rolling toward this becoming a reality. Of course, we hope that this is just the beginning of major development around Lake D’Arbonne that would result in many new business opportunities and job growth for Farmerville and Union Parish.” stated Representative Chris Turner.
“This project is an example of what can be accomplished when we work together to improve our community. I’m proud to have worked tirelessly with Rep Turner and our local leaders to help Lake D’Arbonne achieve the greatness we know it deserves,” stated Senator Stewart Cathey.
The Mega Ramp is just a small portion of the bigger picture of plans in the area across from K&M Coffee Corks and Camo in Farmerville. The development of this area will open spots for numerous businesses to come – which will bring in more jobs, and the mega ramp will give local fishing tournaments a larger area to dock boats.
The Mega Ramp plans include a 60’ x 30’ stage for fishing tournament use; two large pavilions; multiple parking spots that will allow trucks and boat trailers to pull through with ease; bathrooms and multiple boat docks for parking.
